My revision white board
May 19, 2010 // 11:48 AM
Revision season is upon us. My first exam is on the 27th May on Health & Safety (Yeah its as boring as it sound) and i went down to WHsmiths purposly to buy my 'revision white board'...no i have not gone mad. In fact i do this every year when i revise.
My revision white board!
Basically i have a white board, not the huge ones in lecture theatres but those you can by from normal stationary shops. And the only way i can revise is mind mapping. So i mind map what i know on the white board, then i go back to my notes and see what im missing, then i wipe it off and start the whole process again!
It really works!! Honestly i do it every year and it works for me :) I think the white board cost me £4.00, and normally i would be wasting so much paper just doing the same thing. So it works out cheaper and its more fun.
Anyway does anyone else have a way to revise.
Oh and im thinking of doing a vlog soon? What do you all think of vlogs? Ive never done one before!

Finally got a placement
May 7, 2010 // 1:12 PM
Seriously i must have the best brother in the world. I was home at my parents last weekend and my brother came to visit too. I told him about my difficulties trying to find a work placement,
as i have sent about 20 application forms to local authorities, and have so far got either: 'Sorry we are not taking anyone this year due to budget issues' or 'Sorry you were unsucessfull at this stage'. And i have to complete a years work experience in a local authority so i can complete an Experiential learning Portfolio, to become accredited to the CIEH. If i didnt do this i would come out of uni, without accreditation, have to take extra exams and start off with a lower wage (With the accreditation you start with £25,000. Without it you start at around £16,000-18,ooo) So you can see why i would totally love a work placement.
So on Wednesday, i call my sister after my lecture has finished to see if she wanted to go for a coffee after uni. Heres how the convo goes (bearing in mind i didnt know he was sorting out a placement for me):
Me: Hey Flick, its Nic
Flick: Have you heard the news?!!
Me: *Confused* um...no...
Flick: Chris has got you a work placement at Blackpool!!
Me: ...omg omg omg really?! *huge smile on face*
Flick: Yeah really
Me: Omg i cant believe it!
Happy. Me? Hell yeah!
